The Haven
Beautiful Grade 2 listed property
Elite design complimented by Traditional craftmanship
History of The Haven.
Originally built by Lieutenant Clarke RN in 1877 within an area of Fowey known as Whitehouse, because of the lime brought in to be burnt and used as field fertiliser. The house was later owned by Sir Arthur Quiller, a well known Victorian author who brought the property in 1892.
The property and its location are stunning and the new owners ambition is to elevate its features and create a landscape to celebrate the vista of Fowey harbour and the open sea.

Piling for a swimming pool foundation.
Creating a beautiful pool design is exciting and fun. Ilex teamed up with Saxton drilling to create the pilled foundations to what will be an elite level outdoor pool.

Creating clever access for larger machines.
Fowey is known for its difficult access and the Haven is no exception. We’ve used our 7T excavator to open up the site and allow much larger machines access to undertake some major upgrades.

Ground source heating
We applaud the client for taking on the challenge of installing ground source heating in such a tricky environment with limited access and margin for error.

“ I reckon that of a harbour the most fascinating and most easeful, for it combines perpetual change with a perpetual repose”
1892, Sir Arthur Quiller describing the view from The Haven.
